  • Another recommend me a cab theread.

I'll be getting my Marshall soon and need a cab. I've seen Carvins go pretty cheap on ebay.

Heres the model I'm looking at:
Since 1946 Carvin has been designing professional audio systems, guitar amplifiers, bass amplifiers and wireless systems. Kiesel Family owned and operated.

I would like to get something with Greenbacks or Vintage 30's, but if I cant afford them I'll get something like this.

Are there any cabs out there that have GB's or V30's that I can get for a good price. I'd like it to be able to handle at least 100 watts.

Also, what ohmage do I need? I have no clue about that stuff. My friend recommended me to get an 8 ohm cab, but I don't know if he's right or not. I'll be running a 1987x or a 1959SLP through the cab.

    Thanks,
    Chris

another vote for www.avatarspeakers.com Dave will put whatever speaker you want in the cab and in whatever color grill cloth and tolex. Since your running Marshalls I would suggest black tolex with wheat grill cloth. That color combination looks great with my DSL head perched on it . I also really like the V30/H30 speaker combo. And as far as ohms go, there should be some numbers on the back of the amp above the speaker outs that tell you what ohm cab you need or a switch which will allow you to change ohms to fit your cab. I would imagine its either 8 or 16. My DSL lets me choose between 4, 8 or 16 ohm, your may too. Nice amps btw

I'd like to get an avatar the most, but I can't afford a new one. I will keep watching ebay. I could get a 2x12, but I really would like a 4x12. IIRC both the amps I'm considering have 4, 8, and 16 ohms. So I could get a 8 ohm cab and run the amp at 8 ohms?
