  • Spina mods

i just got my Ibanez TS9dx in the mail from Mr. Spina and this thing is amazing. Everything sounds fatter without having that annoying midrange spike in it (and i love alot of mids in my tone) I never really noticed how midrangey it was until i had John worked on my pedal. Alot more useable gain is available (no hissy high end or buzzyness) , more bass is present, overall just better sounding. I've played alot of tubescreamers /TS clones and this is the best sounding one. The thing that really floors me is how all 4 modes have usuable sounds. Before i kept it on the TS9 setting the whole time because the other modes didnt do anything for me. Johns work is top notch and i would recomend his work in a heartbeat.

He did the same for me on the same pedal and it became a very versatile pedal with all the modes. Enjoy it , he does great work.

Don't know if it was the last one he did, but John modded a TS-7 for the first time for me. Stock, it was kind of harsh and just sounded digital somehow. The "Hot" switch was like sticking your head in a hive of angry bees. Now the standard setting is great - very much like D.S. described. The kicker for both of us was the "Hot" setting -makes it scream, but in a sweet and usable way.

        Thanks again Mr. Spina!

            Re: Spina mods

I just inherited a TSDX9 from an old bandmate - apparently non-working. Are you still fixing and modding them? What is the cost?

Believe me when I say that some of the most amazing music in history was made on equipment that's not as good as what you own right now.

Well, he was on a lot on the 11th-14th, so I thought I'd take a shot. I can understand if he's moved on the other things.
