I've wondered about those when I see them in the Stew Mac catalog. Not bad!

Yeah . . . me too. Now, I may have to buy one.

I wonder what looper Joe is using?

That dude is my hero. If ever I saw a tutorial guy who gives no f***s, Tonefiend would be it. His deep delve into famous fuzz pedals is not to be missed.

            GRRRR.

            He references resistance as output.

That said, it makes me want to use that circuit as a volume pot rather than a volume pot.

There is a correlation. It's not perfect . . . but its there.

Dimarzio's Steve Morse set is 21k and 10k. Guess which is bridge, and which is neck.

Dimarzio D-Activator neck is 7.22k, and has more output than the Tone Zone, which is measured at 17.31k.

This thread is not about DC resistance. It's about Joe.

I had one in a guitar, it sounded nothing like that. It sounded so subtle I took it out.

I understand. I bet Joe could get Ibby PowerSounds to sound good.

There are different degrees of distortion depending on how it's wired, aren't there?

it's a back to back diode clipper in a little box. If you put it in backwards, it wouldn't do nothin'. I think....?

Shoot. My guitar tech in phx put it in. Maybe he did it wrong.

I just went to the Black Ice site and it appears it's different than I thought; it's got a few clipping agents in that little box and 6 leads instead of just 2 like I remember. I'm gonna assume it's silicon and germanium diodes and LEDs in there, and it's got diagrams for all the different symmetrical and asymmetrical clipping options.
