Huh. I haven't watched any demos. I wonder if they're trying to show that it can do "normal sounds too" right out of the gate for broader appeal.

Well, it was one of those overproduced 'hear it in a mix' videos. I don't really trust those...besides not giving any useful information, I can't tell what is the pedal and what is post-production. But hey, I am sure I am not the audience for gear videos. I tend to hate them all...haha.

I do love that they are making ambient pedals these days. I used to have to take rack processors, spend hours tweaking them to make sounds they were never designed to make. Now we have single effect pedals that do this, so I am happy.

That little MXR reverb has some nice ambient sounds right out of the box, and it's got an expression jack, stereo via breakout cables, and selectable full wet and trails mode. Plus a couple great-sounding normie verbs and a tone knob... tone knob is such a good feature.

I don't get anything out of those "full band mix" gear demos either. Defeats the purpose for me.

        • Currently, I am using either a Line 6 M9 or M13, or an HX Effects for ambient sounds live. I use my Fractal FM3 for recordings, and it has amazing ambient delays and reverbs, plus lots of different ways to combine them.

HX Effects is such a great piece of gear. I've had it for about 5 years now and I haven't tried everything it can do. I have been combining their Nonlinear reverb with either tape or digital delay and some chorus on a single footswitch for instant ambient fun. Putting that after a synth or octave model (or just running the HOG into it) is like playing a different instrument. And it's so convenient. I feel a little uncertain of it because I've had it hiccup on me during startup in a couple live/jam situations, but it's always come through eventually.

I am starting to have one of the buttons go on me...it takes a few presses to engage. I hope there is a fix.

              • Put this little board together today. Pedal Train JR, 1 Spot Pro CS-7 Power. Xotic SP compressor and Noblels ODR-1 to the front of the Amp. Have a Xotic Super Clean booster / buffer to a Boss DD7 and then an Oceans 11 in the loop. Will use this one with my Zinky Velvet, PRS Sonsera 20 or my Mesa F 30 combo for small gigs. Will replace the Oceans 11 at some point with either a Strymon Blue Sky or something like it. Haven't got everything really cleaned up but will finish it tomorrow as have to play tomorrow night and plan to run the Zinky. Found the Pedal Train JR with the Power supply all cables and the soft case at a local Pawn Shop a couple of weeks ago for $75 OTD and just got time to throw this one together. The Board and power supply is exactly this same set up from Reverb and looks unused, There was no way I was leaving it at that shop for that price! https://reverb.com/item/43429734-ped...-supply-bundle

No doubt! I guess they looked up used prices on Reverb for just the board and priced the entire set up with the power supply that way. That Power Supply was not cheap, in particular. What I can't believe is how much quieter this set up is than the SKB powered board I was running with a One Spot was. Will make a great grab and go small gig set up once I get the Reverb situation fully sorted out. I may swap the Oceans 11 for my Newnaber wet and add my old Deep Blue Rocktron Chorus to get some modulation. Just not wild about the Oceans in this particular set up.

                    • Revamped my board for tonight. I think it will stay like this for a while. Replaced the Oceans 11 and the DD7 with a Neunaber Wet Verb and my trusty old DD3 then added the Rocktron Deep Blue Chorus all from my acoustic board. Really likening this set up now. Will run it out tonight and see how it feels live before I really lock everything down and tidey it up.

What made you go back to the DD3 over the DD7? I've got a (mostly) trusty old DD3 as well, but I'm leaning towards taking it off for something with tap tempo.

Just wanted to keep it really simple and easy on this board. This particular combo of the DD3 the Wet and the Deep Blue Chorus just sounds fantastic together and was not being used. I pulled that set up off my unused acoustic board and just moved it to the new board. I am not getting rid of the DD-7 just will use it elsewhere. The Oceans 11 may go at some point though.

                          • I don't use a pedalboard live anymore with my cover band (Clickbait) and originals band (Texez Mudd). Amp footswitch out front and that's it. I'll have an overdrive by the amp plugged in and a tuner but since I use a wireless I don't need them out front. Short cable in to the amp. Sometimes the overdrive stays on and sometimes it doesn't. Depends on the room. I'll have to find a pic of my worship pedalboard.

                            • Tuner and overdrive to the Simplifier input. Delay and reverb in the effects loop. Nano+ board. I could use this for anything really, not just the worship band but that’s its main purpose. We run a silent stage with IEMs.

                              • In a pinch I could pull off my set with that board. I would trade out the reverb for some kind of mod but that is just me. But, yeah, I could definitely rock that board, joyfully.
