  • Help me pick a "vocal" like wah pedal

Im looking for a new wah pedal. What I mainly want out of it is:
    A) a wide, but even frequency sweep
    B) Vocal like expression

The main 2 I've been looking at that are known for their "vocal" tone sweep are the dunlop EVH and the dunlop classic Slash wah

If you have experience with these or any others let me know!!

I don't know if it is what you are looking for but I sold an AMT Japanese Girl Wah to forum bro Artietoo–it had 3 different types of Wah built in that offered short range to very long range and was the best sounding Wah I've ever used...just a thought

Try the 535Q or the Cantrell. I can't think of two more vocal wahs.
Schecter ATX Blackjack C7 BKP Painkiller (B) and Abraxas (N)
      Hagstrom Hj800 Jazzbox stock pickups
Fender Jazz Bass EMG MJ Set
Music Man SUB Ray5 stock pickups
      Line 6 Helix
      Dunlop Strings and Picks

The opinions expressed above are my own and do not reflect normal levels of sanity.

        He lervs that pedal!

Seems like "most" would be OK,tho, just a matter of getting it/them dialed in.

There was one that I heard that I really liked, it was the Joe Satch big bad wah. Excellent sweep

I have just the regular standard dunlop crybaby and its great for what it is.......except the sweep is rather limited and its not true bypass, so my tone is super colored even when the pedal is off

Your location says paradise city, but if you live around a big city, go to a big music store and try everything.
You'll know right away when you step on it. I've gone through a few wah pedals, and the three I've kept are the Fulltone Clyde Deluxe, Bonamassa signature, and Jimi Hendrix signature.

Ha! Maybe he likes girls from Japan..? lol

It was an awesome Wah for sure...I just don't use a Wah for any of my playing whatsoever.

Personally, I think everyone's definition of "vocal" is a little different. As such, I'd second the recommendation to visit a highly stocked guitar store, and if nothing there suits your fancy, I'd recommend a highly tunable Wah that you can dial in to your preference.

                          Oh no.....

I totally agree. In my book Morley is the most vocal wah. It all comes down to preference, what you feel comfortable with and a lot depends on technique. Give me a Crybaby and my wah chops go out the window. The sweep is too narrow. If you want a huge sweep go with a Morley.
