Digitech ep

Well I just recently got a randall rd1c and it's on the frits. And I nred a pedal that will give me killer distortion with a tight bottom. I was lookin at the boss me25 originally, but it hss too many features I wouldn't use. But I read the specs on the digitech rp360 and that sounds right up my alley. Should I try again with another amp (vox vt20x) or should I save 30$ and get the digitech? Has anyone had any experience with the rp360 or the new Vox line (vt20x)
Btw way I'm looking for a more modern metal distortion. Any reply will be greatly appreciated!
