  • NPD – Berhinger V-Amp Pro

So a while back my dad gave me his old Line 6 POD Pro. I've enjoyed using with headphones (and my neighbors probably prefer it to my Hot Rod Deluxe ) but the clean tones just sound way too sterile. I once had a Behringer V-Amp that I really liked but just didn't use when I initially switched back to using amps.

I had an extra rack space so I got this Behringer V-Amp Pro and have really enjoyed the tones. Like I remembered, the clean tones are much more organic sounding than the POD. Not gonna say which one is better–they are both fun.

Anyone used the V-Amp before? Thoughts?

      Ha! Depends

I feel the POD really nails the American high gain stuff while the Behringer nails the clean tones.

Thanks man! From what I've read, several guys run their bass guitars through the Guitar V-Amp, so between the POD and V-Amp I should be set for anything that doesn't require an amp

Do you ever chain these or do you prefer just one or the other for various jobs?

Right now I just prefer one for mid/high gain stuff and the other for clean/light crunch

Haven't thought about liking them yet; although I didn't an A/B switch would be cool to incorporate somehow.

You should get you an A/B/Y switch to where you can use the POD for high gain and the Behringer for the cleans all with the same setup.....

Excellent idea! I still prefer my amps but some settings you go directly into the computer/sound board so that would make it perfect!

I think this would work in that sitiation.

Yup, that would get 'er done! Would be great for clean and gain as well as rhythm and lead.

I had an A/B/Y pedal but never used it (included it in a trade deal a bit ago.) Variety is the spice of life–never hurts

That's awesome! And funny that I prefer it for clean tones
