    Re: Tweak Fuzz Double-Tweak Mod

mine had a volume drop when engaged unless the level was wide open
    the volume mod corrected that
replaced a resistor and jumped another

the mods made mine much more useable

I added an LED so I can tell when the lower Tweak knob is selected.

I'm like a crazy cat lady, but instead of cats it's Tweak Fuzz units. The gold one is an EJ FF (BC183) with an external bias pot. The left footswitch is bypass and the right switch will select between 2 preset input caps. I need to come up with a plan for the lower-right unit.

            Hi ArtieToo.
Thank you very much for your electronic scheme which is the only one I found on the internet for the tweak fuzz. I'd like to make one by my self, but the C1 value is missing. I've seen pictures of this capacitor but it's verry small and I can't see anything, could you help me ?
I'd realy like to have this Fuzz and it's imposible to find it in France.

It's on my diagram. (Upper left corner.) C1 is 4700pf, which is 4.7 nf, which is .0047 uf. Don't mistake that for .047uf. Caps are never listed in nanofarads, so look for either .0047uf or 4700pf.

              P.S. Now I wish I hadn't sold my TweakFuzz.

Thank, I'm aware about µF, nF and pF
I've understood that C1-C6 and R1-R6 on the top left was for the Tweak selector. It's still missing the other C1 and which transistor between Q1 or Q2 is the 4401.

Ah! That C1. I believe that's called a "miller" capacitor. It's probably going to be in the 150pf range. Unfortunately, I can't check for sure because I no longer have my Tweakfuzz.

Crap ; Anyway thank you for helping.
And if someone knows exactly what "this C1" is, I'm still interested.

                        Re: Tweak Fuzz Double-Tweak Mod

The C1 miller capacitor is there to reduce gain at high frequencies to reduce harshness.

Try something between 33pf and 150pf. This cap is not typically installed on a vintage fuzz face pedal.

What ^ he said. The value isn't critical. It's there to prevent oscillation in the 1st stage. I think.

Thank you both. Then I'll do what you say by trying something like 100pF.
This project is more complicated than I thought at first, but the chalenge is really interesting. I'm pretty sure I will have new questions in the coming weeks.
