That's pretty cool. I had no idea. Always assumed that First Act guitars was about as "high-end" as it got at Walmart.

Best Buy is actually phasing out a lot of their musical instruments stuff.

I think most of them are "marketplace" items, i.e. things shipped and sold by someone other than WalMart that just wanted an extra outlet. Amazon and Best Buy both have similar setups with the online stuff.

I went looking for a pedal on Amazon the other night in order to get the 2 day Prime shipping. I've gotten pretty good at making sure I buy only from Amazon directly mostly because the return shipping is free if I don't like it and it's a very easy return process.

As much as the wife and I buy from Amazon, they issue me a bit of stock. It's ridiculous. But so convenient. It's the world of impulse shopping taken to the nth degree.

For anything from Walmart.com, I had best be able to walk into any Walmart and return it no questions asked (within their posted time frame).

Yeah...they all do this. A few years back when some people were killing eachother standing in line trying to get those anniversary mini marshall heads, I just tipped in the back door at BestBuy.com and picked them up in my local store.

I dug a little further: some of them are coming via Walmart, and some of them are coming directly through some other vendor just like Amazon does. Still, who would have thought you could by things like this through Walmart at all? I'm hoping they might actually stock some in their stores so I can scoop them up on a clearance sale, but I'm sure that's wishful thinking.

You have to bend to Walmart's will but the volume can be staggering for some companies I bet.

I just found out by accident today that most of the big-name pedals (EHX, Fulltone, Xotic, Maxon, Seymore Duncan, etc., etc.) are available through Walmart.com!! Seriously. Under "Musical Instruments & Karaoke: Guitar Accessories"

Their prices seem to be about the same as eBay, so if anyone is in the market for a new pedal it's worth checking out. Free shipping. And, of course, Walmart has a pretty generous return policy.

    'Tis a strange world, indeed...
