  • Crybaby doesn't cry!?

I just bought Buddy Guy Wah. I installed a new 9V battery, inserted jacks, initiated the pedal when pressed until hearing "click".

LEDs work but It doesn't functionate. Annoying!

I tried reversing input and output jacks.

Does it do anything when engaged or just silent? Try cycling the switch with your finger a few times, then try again.

Also, if it's new, just trade it out, I doubt it's user error.
    Oh no.....

    Oh Yeah!

      It's new. I don't understand what's going on.

I tapped the pedal to the click then tried. I made it again and again. It didn't work. Now it started to work.

I hope there is not a problem inner cables or solders.

How long does the 9V battery last?

If you unplug the input between uses the 9V will last quite a while.

The stomp switches are notoriously bad, they are the #1 point of failure for pedals. It's possible for them to only "half engage" which will let the LED light but leave the circuit partially bypassed. I'd cycle the switch a few times with your finger so make sure it's engaging. If it is, put the wah on a hard surface and make sure you are really stepping down on it to engage the wah.

If clicking the switch with your finger doesn't engage the wah and everything is connected correctly, it's defective and you should exchange it.

From up to down position there is a sudden and drastic volume increase in somewhere. As if it's volume pedal the volume increases and the increase is not steady.

          Is it normal?

Yeah, if one component is disconnected or not working (forget the part), a wah becomes a volume pedal. Send it back, quit dicking around with it.

It's usually the 4.7uF capacitor connected to the inductor that does this.

I don't know if I'd waste more time with it. Just get another one.

                  That's why god invented warranties.

If the pedal is new, return/exchange it. You'll void the warranty by doing anything under the hood yourself.

Play some Justin beiber to it.... That should make it cry like a baby...

Slam it in a car door.

Or offer it some candy, and then eat it yourself.

Sometimes you have to punch them until they cry..

Hey guys, I uploaded the samples.

Volume Boost is very prominent on the first sample. (Without drive pedal) When you press the pedal alongside with wah there is also volume increase.

What do you think is there a problem with this wah?

                            Specs :

On the first half of the samples wah mod is "button out" then "button in"

                            Amp :
                            Marshall GR15CD (Transistor Amp)
                            Guitar : Ibanez RG470
                            Pickup : Seymour Duncan TB-6B
Wah : Dunlop BG-95 Buddy Guy Signature Wah
Overdrive : BOSS Keeley BD-2 Phat Mod

                            Pedal Order : 1-Wah 2-OD

                            Sample 1 :

                            Sample 2 : BD-2 is On

It sounds like a wah, can't comment on the volume boost since it's always on in the samples.
