  • MXR Reverb pedal review - NICE

Since my other thread on it seems to have disappeared into oblivion ( ) I'll start another one, this time with personal experience.

In short - it's awesome. The size of a phase 90, six sounds total, control with three knobs, expression pedal input, standard 9VDC power, and no BS.

It's good. REALLY good. The it delivers the goods the demo video promised. It feels solid, it's very compact, and the tone is very natural. You can select between true bypass and buffered bypass (which will trail the reverb after the effect is shut off).

I love it. I plan to get one added in to my rig!

Weird it disappeared. I had sent this link to a friend of mine. https://forum.seymourduncan.com/show...l-awesome-demo

Now it's gone. No idea. I'm asking the other Admins.

On this review they say that it can run in stereo with a TRS cable, on minute 5:30, http://youtu.be/Irzwr6pAUbE.

The expresion pedal thing is nice.

I ain't gonna lie. I just picked up that Topanga (love it) and this MXR is calling my name too. Maybe at a later date once I get this other echo stuff ironed out. Seems like a winner.

Splitter cable might make sense for Stereo. They might have it loaded up inside and no room for a 2nd output jack. How many of us actually run in stereo? It's been fun to play that Nemesis in stereo but I don't know how often I will do it.

Hmm, at $200 I wonder how the MXR stacks up against a Neunaber. The Slate is just a little more money and offers more versatility, though I don't know if it can be used in stereo...

Edit: The Slate is stereo, and is only $40 more.

The Slate looks interesting as heck do you really want a pedal for your pedal to select presets? Or have to hook it up each time you want to change verb? I might be missing something as I took a very quick look at it.

The ExP would be for those that want/need presets. I have no need for presets on any of my pedals; that's what the knobs are for.

There's no stereo input on it i'm guessing? I don't see myself needing the extra features of it, like exp input or stereo outs, i wish they had made two versions; the costlier one getting proper stereo in & out, with an extra foot switch to change presets. That way a more basic version would have been priced around the boss rv5 or tce hof neighborhood.

They say there are no dumb questions, but here goes.... "why would you want a stereo input on a reverb pedal? How would that work exactly?"

Okay, two dumb questions. Perhaps two pedal banks feeding into the thing?
