Just went and looked up the OD-2R schematic, asymmetrical clipping in a feedback loop and all discrete components, no opamps, definitely interesting.

So somewhere between a SD-1 and BD-2? Interesting...

Can't say for sure on the tone, haven't tried one, but I would guess somewhere in that neighborhood.

Came across this video not long ago too, kinda what got me pricing OD-3s in the first place, not sure if I'll do any mods or not though, it sounds good stock and it has a lot of range, from almost clean boost to distortion pedal type dirt.
