  • DIY Bypass Pedal Trouble

I'm trying to build a bypass pedal to turn my reverb box on and off but it's not quite working I'll post pictures of the design I'm going by and mine. Hoping someone can tell me why it's not working. I get absolutely no sound at all.

Is one or more of your "hot" tabs on the jacks touching the box? Looks like there might be a short there, especially the one on the right in the photo. Also, your soldering isn't great. There might be a cold joint that looks connected but isn't. Again, I suspect the jack on the right.

What are symptoms? No sound at all? Sound sometimes? Not bypassing correctly?

Have you tried it with the lid open? It looks to me like the tabs on that switch are going to make contact with the base of the "pedal" when you close it. I don't think an Altoid tin is starting off to make a peddle out of.

Take it out of the container and see if it works.

Try lining the inside of the case with electrical tape or something similar. Im betting on a short from the case

A meter would be your friend in this situation. Are you sure that switch doesn't need to be rotated 90 deg's? In other words, are you using the proper "common" terminals?
