Well, I have to mention the Catalina Chorus, which can do what you want, and more. It is out of the price range, though. A chorus is something I used for years- lately, I tend to be more into a phaser.

Digitech CF-7 will make any chorus sound you need.

I'm gonna suggest go get an old Washburn Accelerator chorus off ebay (Blue one)- A-SC7
Arion Stereo chorus will hit that also.

Mooer Ensemble King is not a bad choice….in the CE-2 style.

Doesn't that have a built in delay or reverb thing?

Main differences are digital or analog. The newer digital stuff like TC is pretty damn good. Best I think I ever had or used was the old TC stereo chorus, still a on-going fav of Eric Johnson.
A lot of Boss lovers here, not one of them myself. I love a good chorus, like most things, there are a million of them.
I used a Whammy V on light detune mode for ages, makes a great chorus has no typical sweep modulation, something special about it. Like an idiot I sold that puppy off, need to get another one, only the V(5) model though.
Chorus before or after dirt is an option as well, both have their uses. After I think is much more full and rich. I used the Whammy up front for tracking plus the harmonizer modes are too cool on that pedal.

Yep, TC Corona, or Gravy, it uses the same toneprints as the Corona and has vibrato as well.

I bet the TC Corona could be dialed in nicely.

I'm certainly considering the tc electronics chorus as well as the dreamscape

I have no real use for a rack system.

Must be a pedal? I ask because the killer 80s chorus sounds were found in rack delays, which are dirt cheap now.

    +1

My first thought was a Boss CE-2 which can be had for $100-150 used. I've heard that the cheaper made in Taiwan version can be made to sound closer to the MIJ version with a few trim pot tweaks. I'm not super familiar with the CE-5, but the CE-3 and CH-1 sound like utter crap in comparison; both bright and very thin.

I was about to suggest the BOSS DC-2 or DC-3 but sellers now ask stupid prices. A pre-owned BOSS CE-20, perhaps.
