  • Volume Pedal

    Hello all,
I'm looking for a volume pedal that would work great in the effects loop of your guitar amp. Where I'd like to place it is in front of your effects in the loop so the Delay chorus and reverb can ring out but you can cut off the signal. My idea is to be able to lower the volume without taking away from the input stage. So the guitar and front of amp effects sound as they should then the send of the loop would hit the volume pedal and then out to the effects in the loop then out to the return.
What volume pedals are good for this? I don't care what they cost I'm not looking for an affordable model but a model that works the way it should without tone alterations.

    Thanks in advance,

    Dan

    Re: Volume Pedal

Since you are using it in the effects loop, you don't have to worry so much about tone suckage, the amp's preamp is a great buffer. You'll want a low z volume (25K) pedal if you are only going to use it in the loop or after buffers. There are lots of choices, kinda depends on how much you want to spend.

EB makes good, reasonably priced volume pedals - http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/EB6181

The Boss FV is nice too - http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/FV500L

No reason to spend the money for one of the expensive Mission buffered models in the loop.
