  • Pedal and Amp Controllers , what are you guys using?

    Hello all,
What Controllers are you using? My needs are Amp control Midi and or Stereo 1/4 inch Stereo cable to switch channels and Lead Boost. Basically replacing a 2 button footswitch.
The more loops the better. You as well as I know we love our pedals and don't want to be held back by not enough loops. I'm like any other typical Guitar pedal user in the fact that I use my amps effects loop to insert Modulation effects in there as well as a Volume pedal right before those effects.
Everything else is out front with a typical layout. I'm not a heavy effects user but I use the standard stuff.

Tuner-Wah-Noise Suppressor-OCTA-Tube Screamer-Spark-PREAMP-Volume pedal-Delay-Chorus-Reverb-Sonic Maximizer-Looper- AMP. So I use a total of 12 pedals and don't see any reason to really add anymore. Drive pedals are always something to check in and out but I would never run any more then 2 for different things. One for a Classic Rock tone and a Tube Screamer in front of my Drive channel for that extra attack.
What would be a good unit to check out?

    I use my feet, mostly.

It's a bit expensive, but for your needs I don't think you can do any better than the Gig Rig G2. It's got 10 effects loops and a tuner out. And honestly, you're probably not gonna want the wah pedal in a loop itself, just for the ease of access. It also has 2 TRS outputs for controlling your amp's channels and boost. It also has midi for those effects that may need it. The best part is that you can set it up all 10 switches for either presets or you can have your bottom 5 set up for your presets, like distortion and the top 5 set up for certain effects. I've looked at other pedal switchers (especially when I was using pedals) and this thing is easily the best I've seen.

The opinions expressed above are my own and do not reflect normal levels of sanity.

The Gig Rig is the benchmark... And not much comes close.

I'm currently using an MXR Dual Loop Box to switch to my lead tone which stacks with whatever pedals are placed before the loop box. Each loop adds an OD, ambient effect and some sort of modulation if I want it.
