There are many pedals out there that are good for many applications. But I would say that every guitar player can benefit from a looping pedal. Great for practicing scales or practicing in general just a good all around pedal period. Of course there are different brands and different functions. I believe its a must pedal for those who enjoy any type of music.

Re: A Pedal every guitar player should have
I've always wanted one. Would be cool for doing solo stuff. But... Then again, you can record backing tracks in advance quite easily and haul around a small/simple laptop rig for that purpose (and also play your guitar through it.)Originally posted by King BuzzoI love when people come up to me and say “Your guitar sound was better on Stoner Witch, when you used a Les Paul. “...I used a Fender Mustang reissue on that, dumbass!

Re: A Pedal every guitar player should have
Been thinking about getting a looper for the reasons mentioned. Timely.
BillWhen you've had budget guitars for a number of years, you may find that your old instrument is holding you back. A quality guitar can inspire you to write great songs, improve your understanding of the Gdim chord while in the Lydian Mode, cure the heartbreak of cystic acne--and help you find true love in the process.

Loopers sound to me what it might sound like in a madman's head."Technique is really the elimination of the unneccessary ... it is a constant effort to avoid any personal impediment or obstacle to acheive the smooth flow of energy and intent"

A looper is certainly a necessity for me. I can tune by ear if I have to. Looping is an amazing compositional tool, and there is no better device for learning improvisation these days, short of having an on-demand rhythm players.Administrator of the SDUGF
