Title says it all, pretty much. It will be used to add a little sparkle to a solid state stereo rack power amp that sounds good but lacks a little high end. Are there any differences between the models for guitar purposes?

Re: Which BBE Sonic Maximizer for guitar?
The big difference as far as I can tell, is the input/output jacks. Some are set up for PA applications and use XLR connectors.
The Maximizer should go last in your chain, just before it hits the amp.
BillWhen you've had budget guitars for a number of years, you may find that your old instrument is holding you back. A quality guitar can inspire you to write great songs, improve your understanding of the Gdim chord while in the Lydian Mode, cure the heartbreak of cystic acne--and help you find true love in the process.

I've got both the 382i and the 482i. Both the same unit, but the 482i has individual controls for both channels. I like mine, but understand, it's a very subtle effect. It's like an Aphex Aural Exciter lite. It really sounds best when listening to MP3's with headphones.
I'll let my 382i go cheap. New in the box.
BBE 382i

Stereo rack is great. I use a stomp for my acoustic (Aphex).
Much like a compressor - if you don't know how to use it, it'll end up an obnoxious crappy EQ. Much like a compressor - less is less.Originally posted by Bad City

All kidding aside, the BBE unit is clearly not everyones cup-'o-tea. It's a subtle affect. But fun when it works. I like fun. YMMV.
