Re: Which BBE Sonic Maximizer for guitar?
I've never found these things to be of much use for guitar, other than adding a bit of sparkle to an acoustic. Bass on the other hand, definitely.
I'd look to be able to try one out before committiing to anything if at all possible, and the Behringer ones are cheap enough to take a small hit in the wallet etc.

Re: Which BBE Sonic Maximizer for guitar?
Well, since you brought it up, the intention of the thread was to try to get an understanding of the differences between the models, and to politely signalize that I was not interested in yet another discussion on the merits of the product. It didn't work too well, did it? I'll make a note of it having been too subtle, and make sure to bring a sledgehammer the next time.Last edited by Sirion; 04-14-2017, 01:30 PM.

The 282iq's pop up on eBay sometimes, they are a nice half rack unit.
I need one of the new sonic stomp mini's.
I like them, have had a bunch.

All kidding aside, the BBE unit is clearly not everyones cup-'o-tea. It's a subtle affect. But fun when it works. I like fun. YMMV.

Stereo rack is great. I use a stomp for my acoustic (Aphex).
Much like a compressor - if you don't know how to use it, it'll end up an obnoxious crappy EQ. Much like a compressor - less is less.

If you must have it, there is the clone version from Behringer, Sonic Ultramizer, or the Aphex clone Sonic Exciter.
