    Re: Klon - Another Klone

The Wampler Tumnus is a worthy mention for Klon(e) type pedal. Hype, trend, fad, or sham; these pedals find homes in pedalboards. I've stopped using pedals almost entirely after buying my bogner, but haven't even thought of selling the Wampler. It's a great pedal and it's staying on my board.

Starts at 22:38; compares the Tumnus to a silver and gold Klon

But with modelers eventually taking over the market, I'm sure there will be one with a Klone effect eventually.

Bill designed the Klon to make a Strat sound like a Les Paul, BTW.

To make single coils drive the amp like humbuckers, and to be able to go from clean tones to overdriven tones using the Strat's volume control.

I never use my Klon with humbuckers. What's the point?
So they are essentially a single coil only thing? Interesting.

Bill originally designed it to beef up the tone of a Strat...to make a Strat sound like a Les Paul. That's how I use it.

But there are guys who use the Klon with their humbuckers.

Joe Perry might be one of those guys.

I use my klones with humbuckers. Usually to push an overdrive or a dirty channel to get my lead tone.
