I'm wondering if its a tuning or pedal thing? Thoughts?

Ideas on getting this sound?
What about it gets your attention?
It’s how I would expect an old school archtop with a P90 to sound like. I assume it’s open tuning for slide but I don’t think that has to do with the tone.

Re: Ideas on getting this sound?
Sounds like an open D or lower tuning on a dead no-sustain arch top with a low powered single coil in the neck through an amp that can't even handle that much.
You could simulate that on a solid body guitar by using nylon core strings or dead solid nickel flats and lowering the single coil pickup away from the strings. Use a small speaker amp like a Champion 600 and dime it, little boost before if you have to. Wail away.

Re: Ideas on getting this sound?
Agree: weak pickup, old dead strings, guitar with not much sustain, small amp, and slightly out of tune.
Depending on what aspect of the sound you like, it's an open chord tuning but it's also not quite in tune. If it's the overall sound you like, you really only get that with a full hollowbody and a low output neck pickup. There is no pedal what will give you that tone. It starts with the hollow wooden box she's playing.
