I had a small box US made RAT with the older IC. I mostly used it for lead tones, but a buddy of mine uses his set with the distortion all the way down like a clean boost.

Back when I started playing (about 1969) there wasn’t many pedals. I had one of the Maestro fuzz pedals (the one used on Satisfaction) and later a Big Muff (actually a Guild Foxy Lady) and a Foxx Tone Machine. My girlfriend at the time had an MXR Distortion +. That thing was always real thin sounding through her Marshall.

These days there’s lots of great pedals out there.

Never tried a "classic" MXR distortion pedal I've liked. Their newer offerings however are sick. But I really don't get the Dist+ hype.
    Epiphone LP Standard PlusTop Pro
    Ibanez SZ320 / A8 DD103 bridge.
Ibanez RG270 / Screamin' Demon bridge.

    Egnater Tweaker 15 Head / Laney Cub 8 / 2x12 - Celestion V30+K100
Line 6 M13 and plenty of stompboxes I rarely use!

Here's a good one for the Boneshaker! This seller is certainly not over-selling its features.

And there are a few on Reverb priced in the 40s.

They only had the Distortion + back in the day.
