  • RMC5 vs MC404 CAE Wah

I'm looking for a wah for my big board, for no other reason than I fancied a change!

What do you guys think of the two in the thread title?

I don't use massive amounts of gain, up to 'classic rock' kinda levels, and I don't do a massive amount of 'funky' (although never say never!)

    All thoughts gratefully received!

Any reason for the RMC5 over the 3, 4 and 10? I love tweaking my RMC3, but I usually end up at a “vintage” type setting similar to the Picture or Perfect 10. The Wizard always struck me as more of a hard rock and metal wah.

I’ve not played the CAE, but it looks great.

Do you ever use fuzz? The Foxrox Buffer in the RMCs is great for use with Fuzzes...
      Oh no.....

      Oh Yeah!

Only because I’ve seen a deal on the 5. I have now seen a 3 for sale and that intrigues. Although as you say, I tend to find a setting and stick to it on most things. I have an Aries Ram on my big board, which is where this would go, plus I may stick the La Super Rica I have for sale on there too.

The RMC5 sounds like "way wah wah wah", where I'd say the MC404 has more of a "wuah wuah wuah wuah" type vibe.

The RMC3FL looks cool, certainly plenty of options!

I have the CAE and love it. Lots of great tones in there, you should be able to find one that works for you.

The Muff should be ok with either wah, the Super Rica will be better with the buffer. You really can’t go wrong with any of the wahs you are looking at though.
