    Update: I sent it back to the builder, he discovered the stuff he used to anchor the circuit board was causing a very partial ground (or something like that?). I will have it back soon and it is reportedly hiss free now.

      Slight thread hijack: Does anyone know to what extent the Catalinbread Naga circuit overlaps with the Rangemaster?

        The Naga Viper uses a silicon transistor rather than germanium and has a couple extra controls. It's a simple circuit like a rangemaster but it's not an exact clone that just uses a silicon transistor in place of the germanium.
