You have to manually switch the knob?
There's a rotary switch with 6 settings on it. For some settings the on/off switch becomes a toggle switch and the pedal is always on. There's also an input to bring your own toggle switch and the on/off acts as normal.

Josh took the switching inspiration from the SD-2, then added the parallel and series stuff with Boss.
I'm pretty sure the Blues Junior side has had a few of the components placed with higher quality parts and a few of the values changed a little bit so that the two sides of the pedal play nice together.

I haven't played a stock Blues Driver in forever, so I can't confirm by ear if I am in fact hearing anything different.

I can't remember who it was on a video or maybe even this forum saying it was like a waza bd-2,,,,,,I'm curious what the difference is if any.

Also I think a non-latching switch can be used to hold the gain-stack for leads/fills and release to single-mode(either side depending on the mode-switch's setting). ,,,,,,,,,,,,very cool feature if that's the case. I had not even thought of that let alone try it yet.

I like the Lovepedal Box Of Awesome a lot. It has the transparent OD11 on one side with treble & bass knobs, and a Kalamazoo for the other half (Kalamazoo has both Rangemaster style treble booster and a conventional tone control). They are stackable and you can choose which comes first in line. Beautiful singing sustain even at relatively low levels, and stacking the two can get hair if you want.

Also very fond of the Blackstone Mosfet OD. Doesn't mess with the inherent tone of your amp & guitars, just gives two extra channels of gain (either/or, not stackable). Extremely amplike response to touch/pick dynamics & guitar volume knobs. And it's small & inconspicuous, with recessed controls that resist accidents. Great option for those who like the sound of their amp already and don't want to remake it, just get a few more gain stages that feel and behave tubelike. Needs to be first in line before any buffers so it can interact directly with your pickups.

Do you happen to know what the mod is, or just what it does to the BD-2 side?
I have the JB-2 but I've never had a basic BD-2, which is one of the main reasons I snagged the JB-2, a two for one deal in a way.

This pedal makes me want a real v3 charlie for the EQ stack, although if you use the boss side as a clean boost going into the jhs then the driver's tone sweep does give some control over the mids of the jhs.

I still haven't made the time to play with the blend mode yet.

If you have any latching Boss footswitch it gives many extra options for the stacked modes.

If you are looking for a great dual distortion/overdrive check out the Decibel 11 Dirt Clod. It has two gain stages, a diode to ground MXR+/DOD 250 type of tone and a 808 TS type of chip. The EQ will let you dial in anything your heart desires from a clean boost to subtle classic rock overdrive to Matt Pike types of dark high gain. The cool thing is the signal path is totally analog but the switching is digital. Therefore you can save 10 presets or use a midi device to control the unit. It is a lot smaller than it looks in pictures and doesn't take up a lot of real estate on your board.

Another vote for the Blackstar HT Dual. Great pedal with a lot of great tones it. Worth the extra hassle of its own supply IMO.

I've got a friend's Blackstar HT Metal Dual I think it is, and it sounds sick. But it also needs a specific 22 volts power source, so there you go.
The HT-Dual also needs its own specific supply. Iirc, itís 16V. The metal version must be pulling more juice if it needs 22v.
