So I have been waiting for Lovepedal to put the Kalamazoo on flash sale for months because I saw Billy Duffy call it the best overdrive ever in a video and I really like his playing.
So this last time around still no Kalamazoo but the Mosferatu Low Gain was $50. I will try just about any pedal for $50, especially when I know I can get it right back if I'm not thrilled.
Well, it is one cool little pedal! I thought it was going to be a fuzz but it really is more of a straight overdrive/distortion pedal. Has a TON of volume on tap and huge low end! Just unlike any pedal I have ever used before.
I still have not decided if it is my go-to gain boost pedal but I won't be flipping it anytime soon. It's running neck-and-neck with my Guv'nor clone for the coveted "only pedal in the signal chain" spot.
