  • NPD: Looks like a footswitch but it's actually four pedals..

Being on an eternal quest for an all-in-one quick recording solution (mostly for instant hassle-free loop pedal jamming ) that requires no chaining bunches of pedals together/endless tweaking/mazes of wires, I thought these looked handy & sounded pretty fantastic for $65..so I've just ordered one..a "Sonicake Sonicbar Rock-Stage"

Seems ideal for direct recording with the onboard cab sim or I could just slip one in my amp's loop and have all the FX I'll ever need (ie..delay & verb )

If this one hits the spot I'll get the "metal" version as well to cover all my loop jam requirements

The NuX Cerberus is more expensive, but has a lot of options, including the ability to load IRs.

NUX covers a range of Amplifiers, Effect Pedals, Wireless Systems, Digital Drums & Pianos as well as PRO-Audio Interfaces & Controllers. NUX was introduced by Cherub Technology in 2006.

The Mooer Red Truck and Black Truck look good too.

Yeah, nice but at nearly six times the price & it's a bit fussy/too many options

This is a pretty cool little unit I've been looking at too..it's still pretty straightforward & very versatile in terms of tones. Does'nt break the bank either. Can always hook it up to my Mooer Radar for some IR variety..

THAT works for me! Chprus, Delay, Verb and some dirt? I can play!!!!!

Of course, my little Mooer board does the same thing and I picked the effects...

I have the original Fly Rig 5, and it is a wonderful pedal for this sort of thing. Another option is the Atomic Ampli-fire pedal, which does a similar thing but accomplishes it differently. That is what I am using now.

Those are pretty sweet little pedal-board-in-a-box kind of things!

The Valeton Dapper Bass effect strip has tempted me many times. If I played bass live I'd probably get one.

Yeah, it came in yesterday & I have to say I'm more than impressed with this gizmo even though I only got to jam with it for a short while this morning. Very versatile, very transparent, very touch sensitive & amp-like. The FX sound great ..all of them.

..lots of tones to be had from hairy/raunchy rock & 80's metal to warm, smooth, bluesy, touchy feely gooey sweetness.

Thought I'd try my hand at the latter

..decided to set my exploration of sleazy porn-tone aside for the moment & explore my sensitive side...

                Recording:

Pedal settings used were the ones in the pic above..

Guitar: My '94 Ibanez S-540Ltd Saber..

Direct out from the pedal using it's onboard cab simulator into my DAW..no additional effects or pre/post production. It's just the pedal.

                    Thanks

I think this is something I could use a lot for recording & won't just get relegated to the cupboard where I dump my other dirt pedals after the first couple of days .

Sweet tones for sure..awesome ones really, but mostly It's super quick/convenient just plugging into one box & pressing 'record' to go..that's my sort of thing

Pretty sure it'll sound great in my amp's loops as well ....just for the FX which are very transparent & HQ imo...

Def going to pick up the 'metal' version as well when I can... that should set me up for all my home recording needs

And the new mastered version... (Online mastering with LANDR. Don't know if it's an improvement or not...maybe a bit more polished )

I'm a simple guy. That many things all at once would make me read it as "foolswitch" and you know, from that point things go downhill for me.

haha..same here ..when it comes to playing live I'm simplicity itself (no pedals)...just some 'verb for the solo's from the sound guy sometimes

I'm not just simple but lazy as **** too ..that's why I had all effects on at once instead of doing separate clips/sections demo's for each effect..

Having said that they (delay/chorus) were barely on ..and it was a pretty sweet tone for a $65 pedal

Re: NPD: Looks like a footswitch but it's actually four pedals..

Just for kicks.. since I had the pedal hooked up to my Bugera 333XL through the loop..I thought I'd see what the difference between pedal and amp sounded like in a (simple/quick/sloppy) recording

The signal was from the amps speaker output using a DI box & my load-box. The pedal was in the loop & I used it's onboard speaker sim & a touch of slap-back delay for all clips...

The pedal was set pretty dark (same settings as the video up there) so I turned down the amp's treble to approximately match it... touch of amp reverb too for the last 3 lead clips.

                            So... 3 riffs/licks

Switching between the two amp channels & the Sonicake pedal in the loop.

                            Running order:

                            1. Bugera Red Channel (Lead 2)
                            2. Bugera Yellow Channel (Lead 1)
                            3. Sonicake Rockstage

(....and repeat twice more for the other 2 riffs)

Speaker out from the Bugera using a DI box, reactive load-box & Sonicake onboard speaker sim (for both pedal & amp clips)

That thing looks great for dropping in your gig bag on the go type of gigs/jams. I don't think I could use it live I have to cover too much territory gain-wise, VH- Foghat - Bad Co. - 5FDP.
