  • Any one using a ProCo Solo pedal ?

    Short question :

    . . . any one owns a ProCo Solo ?

I always see a lot of very happy RAT owners, but are there any love for the (lesser known ?) Solo pedal ?
Feel free to tell me more of about this Proco stomp box.

I tried one years ago, IIRC it's like a more versatile Rat, cool pedal, as are all Rats. I think Ace may have one that he is currently using(?).

      Thank you very much.
Just wish it had a 'cool' name, like something-something-RAT.
      Three-Headed Rat, perhaps ?

I can get a used one for $60.00 (USD)

LOL, yeah, Solo isn't as cool as Rat, but it's a much more useful pedal IMHO. For $60 I'd jump on it, if you don't like it, you can sell it to me.

I have it and love it. Over the past 5 years I have had an original rat, a Moore clone and the Solo. Anything a rat can do a solo can do, and a lot more

I never heard of it before. What does the Scoop knob do? And is the three way switch for different clipping options?

The tone knob is like the filter knob on a rat

                    The scoop scoops mids

All the clipping is asymmetrical, and the output increases through the different configs.

It is a bad@$$ pedal in any mode. Swampy almost got me to grab a vintage Rat....glad I didn't.

It's the pedal that made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs.
