Depends how realistic you need it to sound (ex: drip). I have the Topanga, Oceans 11 and FRV-1. None of which really scratched the surf itch until I paid the $800 for a Fender 6G15. As a backup, I’d probably go with the Topanga.

Sorry to "bump" this thread-

But I think my best solution is to find a used Danelectro "Spring King"-

I think I even saw one for sale NEW?! :o

But anyways-

It's still going to be better, I think, (for my own personal needs and preference), than the onboard digital reverb.
(or any digital simulation)

Well, the Spring King is a more metallic-sounding spring than something like a Fender. But you are talking a huge price difference there.

I'm pretty sure the element, is just the box. Preceeded by La Brute, means that it comes with the springbox. There's also three different versions four if you count just the box
