DOD was bought by Digitech (Harmon). It’s all the same company now.
    Oh no.....

    Oh Yeah!

Yeah, the DigiTech Grunge and D.M. pedals were (at least as far as I knew) basically an update on the former DOD models — but with a separate cab sim output, in addition to a ‘normal’ out.

I haven’t tried that line...but I was always curious, as cab sim is so useful for some purposes.

That makes sense. My DOD Grunge is all full sized through-hole components. The Digitech Death Metal is mostly more modern surface mount components.

Ahh, that’s interesting, and also logical.

Yes, I remember the DOD Grunge pedal very well! I remember when the ''newer DOD versions'' came out and always wanted it. Ended up buying the Supra Distortion instead at the time. I have owned two Grunge pedals but ended up selling them. I picked up the DigiTech version, too, but to me it didn't sound the same. The same with the Death Metal pedal. Both the DODs are great, though. Also, the Ice Box Chorus is very cool from DOD.

Yes, the Ice Box was a great chorus pedal. I never used a Supra Distortion, though...what was its thing?

The Supra Distortion was supposed to sound like a overdriven tube amp. It didn't really, but didn't sound too bad. More like a Peavey Bandit sound.

                  Loud Butt Face Grunge.

I turned my nose up to that pedal when I was in high school. My older, wiser, and hopefully less-arrogant self says that was a dumb move. I should have bought one for $50 when I had the chance. I also had a BOSS HM-2 from Japan back then - paid $50 for it... didn't like it. Took it back. Man, I was dumb.

That could be the Freudian slip of the week.
