This Xmas I got an AMT M2, which is supposed to be a Marshall JCM 800 in a box.
It comes with 3 1/4" outputs:
1) For putting in front of amp
2) For hooking into a poweramp or amp's FX return
3) Cab Simmed direct to board/DAW
Awesome preamp. I had a JCM 800 2210 back in my younger days and I gotta say it gets real close to that JCM 800 tone.
Plus the clean tone (available with 2,3 outputs as above) is fantastic (a la Fender).
So I whipped up a quick clip. Using the Cab Sim out, no EQ, only reverb and a touch of Eventide on the clean. Both clean and distorted featured.
