Wow, that's really cool if it works. Gonna give it a whirl later.

So I've had a chance to play around with it a little bit. Very, VERY cool concept but obviously still in its infancy. You're given the option of either prerecording straight into your microphone or interface and then having that run on a loop while you tweak pedal knobs or you can livestream your signal to their site. And you're not playing through a remote pedal sim, but your signal is routed through the actual pedal, with servos twisting the knobs for you. I gotta say as a bit of a mechanics dork this marriage of modern tech and old hands-on solutions makes me squeal a bit with joy.

That being said, since the signals aren't routed through any actual amp but straight to the pedals and then through a cab sim (at least thats what I think they've done) nothing really sounds particularly good. Everything comes through muffled and dull. Why they don't route it through an amp simbefore the cab stage is beyond me (or maybe they do and the streamed sound quality is just badly degraded).

Latecy is really bad too. I'm sitting on a 500 gb line in Europe and even then the live function is borderline useless. But the pre-record feature does work well.

All in all, it's not there yet. But I suppose right now its still a proof of concept. If they keep working on it its gonna be invaluable. Sadly, I think it might also spell the end of smaller local retailers, as one of their main advantages is that you can actually walk in and try any gear they have in store.
