...and how different do they sound from each other? I'd imagine there is a lot of overlap here.

Three you say? OK, let me try...

#1 The Diaz Tremodillo; It is just the most tone rich, smooth, and soulful? maybe, of them all. Very very Fendery. Just awesome, and the little hyper speed button is fun. A close runner up to that for classic is the Fulltone Supatrem. The Guyatone Flip also is just "that" sound too...

#2 In the more "Feature" laden category, I'm gonna say the Empress; Three modes, Three Waves, rhythms and Tap. A close second is the Wampler Lattitude with its Attack knob. Catch me another day and I might give the Monument as runner up with the Harmonic Tremolo setting.

#3 The Fender Tre-Verb for Tremolo plus Reverb. The overall tone and sound quality is just fantastic, plus reverb. Just a lot of fender Classic. The Flint is the Runner up there - but I'm gonna say it, because I see it all the time. The Flint is "good" and very simple, but it isn't great, at the sounds it does, to me, where the Fender is just pure fender classics. People like the Flint Tremolo and love the reverb, or love the reverb and like the Tremolo. For those who just want some basic Reverb and Tremolo...Flint is a staple though. I run the Tre-Verb into my Fender Pro Jr. and the Flint in to my HK TM18 as staples.

          I'll add a couple...because I can;

#4 Pure weirdness has to go to the Cusack Tap-A-Whirl, which is a rhythmic tour-de-force. A number two is the Old Blood Noise Whitecap. Because two Tremolos simultaneously is wackier than one.

#5 In the Budget Zone, I've got to give it to the Boss TR-2. Runners up include the Dano Tuna Melt and the Mooer Trelicopter.

          Others I'll Mention;

I prefer the Boss PN-2 to the TR-2s. Just a smoothness and feel about it. And stereo is always fun.

The Duncan is hands down the tremolo of choice for tremolo shaping when you need "that" particular wobble.

The Digitech Hardwire is all kinds of awesome in a Swiss Army style.

The Dunlop is a personal favorite and I don't know why. I seem to use it a lot for basic Tremoloing. Maybe because big with well spaced knobs?

            Yes and no.

The big differences are the wave forms, some only have one (Diaz, Demeter), others a few (Triangle, Sine, or Square). and the triangles/sines can be very different. For example, the TR-2 is really more of a "rounded off" square than a true triangle or sine. The Choka has a knob, but never really gets to a sine wave. All triangle, and then square.

The other is style; Bias vs Optical. The Bias ones have a more smooth acceleration, or rounder sound and the Otto give a cleaner chop for the square wave fans. Obviously Harmonic is something else entirely.

Then there are the features, depending on what you are doing
            - full/half speed
            - Tap Tempo
            - Rhythms
            - Other things (Like Bias adjust, touch sensitivity, etc)

Funny you should post that. I was gonna look it up and ask if the artist still does that, or would. Of course, you could maybe be persuaded to part with it....

Timely thread. I’ve been trying to fill in a few voids in my pedal collection lately and tremolo is a big one. I don’t own any trem pedals at the moment. So perhaps this would be a good time to ask for some recommendations.

I’m not looking for anything too crazy. My primary usage would probably be to get that nice smooth, round, vibey, “Born on the Bayou” type trem. I don’t need any extra effects like reverb or anything. But some tweaking features would be cool.

Being able to control the wave form would be nice. Level/mix controls would be nice too. Both standard trem and harmonic trem modes would be nice to have. I’d prefer analog but I’d consider digital. I’d like to keep it under 200 bucks. Preferably 150 or lower if possible.

Any ideas would be much appreciated , thanks.

Don't need anything fancy; Wave, Level, Harmonic...LOL

I suggest a used Walrus Monument. The Tap function is nice on a Tremolo, especially live. Trust me.

I was looking at the Walrus as a possible candidate. It seems to check all the boxes. Do you know if the Monument is analog or digital? I can’t seem to find any mention of it in the documentation on the website. Hmm…

you may be trying to fill your tremolo void
and the reason it isnt working is it isnt really a tremolo void
                      maybe its a chorus instead

all of those and you are still unsatisfied?

I have an issue with reverbs , but once i found the one or ones that filled that void my search was over

could you have something similar to a tremolo void that you are trying to fill with your vast assortment of Trem-A-Loz

seriously, you have that many and still searching for more?

                        It's a Hobby, a Pass-time, a Fetish. I have a Digitech CF7 Chorus Factory, a Visual Sound H2O, and Boss SC1, an Ibanez CF7 Chorus/Flanger, and a Washburn Stereo Chorus. Love them all.

I am very satisfied with my Chorus game, and my Tremolos. Very satisfied with a lot of my tremolos - LOL.

It has a few more bells and whistles than you want - but you can just ignore them.

                          1. I don't know
                          2. It sounds fantastic regardless of the DNA inside
                          3. I would guess digital because of the feature set.
                          4. Did I mention it sounds great?

Yeah I think he still does them. I was the first one to request that specific color combination, but he's done a ton of cherry blossom type prints. He does many different things. I like his honeycomb refins and may end up getting one at some point.
