  • Headrush Gigboard- Killer Value

As a gear hound, I'm constantly buying and selling gear. Two SLOs, two Ecstacys, 5150, all kinds of nice tube amps, Kemper Stage, Fractal FM3, Headrush Prime, Ampero Stomp 2, just so much gear through the years evaluated, and recently got curious about the HR Gigboard, which I recently bought. $420 pre-owned mint with big meaty HR volume pedal, just a stunning buy for what I would term a legit "A-" tier modeler, a very nice buy. These are such a sweet unit and a killer deal. First, these Gigboards are bigger than you think, 13x9x4, pretty big, but in a good way, big, meaty, heavy, well spaced foot switches, and that big gorgeous touch screen, sure feels like it's built like a tank. If you value holding something in your hands that impresses, big, meaty, well built, and classy looking, you will enjoy the Gigboard. None of the pics online do it any justice. Hold it in your hands and it impresses, big and well built. All the usual ins & outs inc balanced outs via stereo TRS jacks, MIDI and loop. I think the tones are very good overall, and I've owned just about everything. Cleans are gorgeous, the effects are gorgeous. On overdrives, I would term them as "very good." I measure all overdrives against my Kemper, the boss when it comes to overdrives. Would I choose Gigboard overdrives over my Kemper, definitely not, but my FM3 isn't a match for my Kemper on overdrives either. The overdrives dialed in on the Gigboard will sound "very good". What % separates Gigboard overdrives from Kemper overdrives, 9 or 10%. My FM3 splitting the difference at about 4 or 5% behind my Kemper on overdrive tones. These Gigboards are kinda forgotten now and I don't know why. It's a big, meaty, well built floor modeler that has really good tones to offer, and for bargain prices right now. If you have a budget of $350 or $400 to spend, without a doubt, it's Gigboard or Ampero Stomp 2, which while a very nice unit that sounds good, it's very small, a blessing and a curse. For $350 used for these Gigboards, you will be floored at how much product you get, one of the best kept secrets. I've had the POD GO and don't feel it's in the leage of the Gigboard at all, real plasticy feel and just didn't like the tones, the Valeton GP200 impressed even less, a quick resale. Give a Gigboard a chance, I think you will be floored just how bigtime this product feels. Good luck.

Havent tried the Gigboard, but I have their MX5 which is their entry level modeler and I use that more than my Marshall or H&K, drives, amps, effects all sound great. The loaded IRs are ok, but thats an easy remedy.

I appreciate the Miller for scale
You will never understand How it feels to live your life With no meaning or control And with nowhere left to go You are amazed that they exist And they burn so bright
Whilst you can only wonder why

            Genuine Draft for the win.

I'll stick with my Pod Go.

Any of those things has epic gig power these days. I can't believe anyone gets the flagship models.
