  • Are these tabs for grounding on this old wah?

I got an old wah shell and the sweep pot or whatever you call it has two tabs on the back. I've never seen those before? What are they for?

I haven't checked. There was old solder and wire ends in there but no clue where they were connected originally.

Some older pots integrated an off/on switch on the volume. It was common on old radios and amplifiers.

for a normal wah, do I need to use those at all?

Wah's normally use a latching switch so you know when it's on. If you did use that switch it would turn the wah off if you maxed out its travel. So that switch was probably never connected.
