never heard of it until now so cant really help, but if it doesnt sound good to you with your rig, sell it and get something that does.
if you set the drive off, mood fully counter clockwise, and all the eq knobs at noon. does it still sound thin and plasticy?

Cant' get a Good Tone from Kernom Ridge
Hey all!
So I've had the Ridge for a couple of years now and its always been on my board. I have basically never managed to get something decent out of it, surprisingly. It is suppose to immitate every OD pedal out there and I've seen many videos and forums where people seem to manage to do just that and seem very content with the outcome.
My experience is completely different. I'm not interested in immitating ODs. I just want to dial in a good sound. And whether its as a clean boost, a mid-gain or particularly high-gain sounds, to me it always sounds trash, like plastic and not-natural.
I'm always on the brink of selling it but then hold back because, for the nature of the pedal, I feel like I must be able to get some juice out of it.
If anyone can share their experiences or settings that would be great!
For context, I normally play through a Humboldt Simplifier mkii amp sim. (All my other pedals sound fab through it so I dont think it is related to the Simplifier).
Cheers!Tags: None
