I've had two of the Adam Jones LP Standards, and still have one. They're great guitars, and I am not caught up on the lack of maple neck. Tbt I bought the one I kept as a platform for mods, and it currently has a Duncan HB sized Dynasonic clone in the neck with a variable treble bleed circuit, and a BG Pure 90 in the bridge with a no load tone control.
I don't get the hate as they are a fairly limited production guitar with custom appointments you won't find on any other Gibson unless you pay $5 grand more and wait 18 months for a Made to Measure. I'm not even a big Tool fan, I just love the specs on the guitar. I had a Made to Measure 3xP90 LP Custom at the same time, and do not feel that guitar was worth $5,000 more than the AJ LP Standard.
