Hi, why is it that the boss metal zone pedal is buzzy as a bee fart played through a marshall valvestate but when played through a marshall mg or a peavey bandit as i have experienced, it sounds fine. no buzziness at all. for a while i have wondered why many people say it sounds like a tin full of bees. i now kind of know why. but its not like that with all amps. i am confused as to why this could be????

Re: Boss metal Zone buzzy conundrum???
I used to use one thru my old '65 Bandmaster-Buzz City! When I tried it thru my JCM800 it was god-like!Trainspotter

Re: Boss metal Zone buzzy conundrum???
Guides and useful information to get it ‘tone perfect’ This page needs a bit of an overhaul, so please bear with us while we get it sorted. A few of the images were lost when one of our secondary hosts were lost last year, but on the bright side we still have the pedal units […]
they have a mod on there so it shouldn't sound buzzy on any amp

Re: Boss metal Zone buzzy conundrum???
I used through clean channels only. both have celestion speakers.
maybe the eq just needs adjusting to compensate for the different amps....
edit: hmm nope tried that. maybe i need a new pedal? i actually really like the way the pedal sounds through the marhsall mg100dfx with a bit of delay. but it sounds ****e through this valvestateLast edited by SepultuRick; 02-02-2006, 02:36 PM.Michael Kelly Patriot Black w/Rockfield Fat Ass set

Re: Boss metal Zone buzzy conundrum???
Your sort of at the mercy of your preamp. A good unit...a great sound out of a MT-2(even better modded). A cheap amp/preamp...you get crap from any dist pedal. Analogman does a great MT-2 Pro mod...but I suggest running it into something better than a Valvestate. Just my opinion. Here's a link to Analogman's MT-2 mod page.

Re: Boss metal Zone buzzy conundrum???
You might want to check a huge post about this I made earlier, replacing two diodes and putting one cap across will already give you a far less bizzy and more raunchy and full boddied distortion.
I've been driving all night, my hands wet on the wheel.

Re: Boss metal Zone buzzy conundrum???
well i actually like the way the metal zone sounds through a marshall mg. it sounds just fine for bedroom level metal. but through the valvetstate it sounds awful. my gut feeling is that the preamp with the tube doesn't like my pedal. the onboard distortion isn't too bad surprisingly but its rubbish for lead playing. damn does this mean i am gonna have to sell yet another amp!!!!!!! if all pedals will sound crap through itMichael Kelly Patriot Black w/Rockfield Fat Ass set

SEPULTURICK
BUY A CRATE GX series amp, i recomend a gx80(The One i HAD) and then use the metazone.
IF YOU want, i can sedn you the pics with the settings i used to use on the MT.
you will really like them
BUT , DONīT put the pedal output level down, or you will get the buzz.
