  • duncan scorcher= what humbucker

I put a Duncan Performer Scorcher in the middle position of my OLP MM4 and it sounds great. I need a humbucker to go in the bridge now and was considering the Buckshot or the Detonator. Which of these will sound good with the Scorcher and keep up with it as far as output goes. I like it hot.

The Buckshot is a knockoff of the Distortion, and the Detonator looks like an Invader, but is actually closer to the Distortion. If you want it hot, go with the Buckshot. If you want scorch marks around your pickup cavity, go with the Detonator

Any idea which will have about the same output as the Scorcher?

The scorcher i something like d.c. 24, VERY hot. There's an interview with Evan at allthingsstrat.com about the Duncan Performers. Very interesting. I'm considering putting 2 Great White Snarks and a Scorcher (bridge) in my MIM Strat.
