  • Best SD choice for my 335-style guitar for a sweet blues tone?

I suppose that this or similar inquiry has been posted here before... nonetheless I'll post it all the same. Maybe some pityful member will help me!

I own an Epiphone Riviera (335-style semi-hollow body). I play it through a sf Fender Vibrolux, and I like a light to medium crunch when I play the blues.
I'm looking for a p.u. set that gives me a sweet, snappy tone in the middle position (which is the position I use for 95% of the time). Then I expect a darker, growling tone from the neck p.u. and a brilliant and present (not ear-piercing) tone from the bridge p.u.

Which among the SD sets will satisfy my bluesy soul?

I had a Seth Lover Set in my Epi sheraton that did exactly what you are describing. I have a PG set in my Lester that also has those same characteristics, but with a bit more sparkle in the middle position.
    Ain't nothin' but a G thang, baby.

i think a set of seths or antiquitys would be the ticket. they are the closest thing to an old gibson pup and are killer for blues into a fender tube amp
