      First, I have never put a cover, so what i am going to say comes from what I have read.

      To fix the cover you have to solde it to the two long sides of the baseplate of the humbucker. You don't need much solder and you have to be aware to not heat the baseplate too much otherwise you will damage the coils.

      It is important to fix the cover tighly to the pickups before solde it so you will leave less space to move freely. You can use small clamp to fix the cover.

      Once the cover it is solded you need to dip wax the pickup. This it is done to avoid the feedback coming from the top of the cover moving with the sound waves of your amp.

      Once I read a trick in this forum, it was from Lew, so may be he could explain you better. It was about putting some masking tape between the stud coil and the cover in order to stick the cover to the pickup. This way you don't need to dip wax the pickup after soldering. But I don't quite remember the details.

      Let's see if he catchs this one...
