Stack vs Single Sized Humbuckers / Opinions on Strat's Switch/Split Pups Installation

Re: Stack vs Single Sized Humbuckers / Opinions on Strat's Switch/Split Pups Installa

You can, and I use to think of doing that. Note that a bridge pup in the middle position won't be RW/RP. Try it out if you want, but personally I'd suggest going with a middle pup.

Remember, we're talking about humbuckers here. RW/RP isn't relevant. They'll be "humbucking" regardless of where they're mounted. Even in the trunk of your car. :)

Hey Guys... have you heard of using a Bridge Pup Model in the Middle spot?

I'm asking this because I use bridge's pup a lot more than the others... Do you think it could be good? To get a Cool Rails Bridge or even a Little 59 Bridge and put it in the Middle?

A Cool Rails bridge is effectively a Hot Rails neck, so that won't be a problem. It will just be a "hotter" middle pup. The 59 will be similar. But a Cool Rails neck has a killer tone.

Guys... I must say that I didn't know what is RW/RP. So I did a google research and I've found out what it is!
Do you guys think that a Cool Rail (Neck/Middle) will cancel hum in 2 and 4 positions when all of them are in split?

I think I'm going to stick with Cool Rails Neck/Middle... I like the way it sounds! I just have to EQ my amp better so I can use Neck and Middle without thinking is too bassy... do you guys have some tips of how I must EQ my set so I can enjoy ALL sounds from my new Pickups?

Thanks again!!
Gus

You can make it be hum cancelling in positions 2 and 4 if the coil you cancel in the middle pickup is different from the coil you cancel in the neck and bridge pickups.

I think Artie thought about it on that diagram, doesn't he?
Thanks

Hey guys, my SD pickups are here (I'm just recording some tracks with my Strat sound before I do the change!)

Next week I'm sending with my guitar to my personal luthier and he'll install it for me!

There's one unanswered question I want to ask you about: Where to ground the wires? Artie told me that he would think about it and post here where's the best place to do it... so, if you can please just answer me this and soon I'll post samples of how they sound on my new guitar!

Thanks again!
Gus
