  • "rails" series pickups

anybody like the cool rails and vintage rails pickups? which position would you put either pickup in a h/s/s guitar, and which humbucker to match?

classic rock to hard rock, with a little blues sometimes

For a laugh I have a Vintage Rails in my black Warlock in the bridge. I have one of those adapter plates to install a single coil in a humbucker slot. Doesn't sound too bad actually.

I'd suggest the Vintage Rail in the mid slot and the Cool Rails in the neck. You can use almost any bridge humbucker with that combo but with the hotter pickups like the JB or any of the Customs you might want to add a series/parallel switch to the bridge pickup to get a better #4 position tone. The hotter bridge pickups can overpower the VR when the humbuckers are wired in series.

I say cool rails neck, vintage rails middle, and a JB, Custom, or Distortion for a bridge and you'll have one hell of a smokin' guitar.
