So smooth, so warm, so sweet. I even got a hot one at 8.3k. It's like buttah distorted. It's like a long, soft, slow kiss on the lips played clean. Great woman tone available. Matches beautifully with my Custom.

Apparently I'm a magnet for oddly-wound pups. Alnico II bridge at 8.3k? Custom at 13.3k?!?

I consider myself lucky actually. I like these "curiously hot" neck pickups (I used to have a DDn, and I liked it). And I love this clearer, brighter Custom.

Not really. It still sounded like a vintage humbucker, just a bit fuller. And it wasn't a muddy, boomy bass either, but a nice round bass.
