For the tone I get in my band I am using the highs fully pushed up. The tone still is a little more round than I need. It has bite, and crunch, but it is not that open.

I should have a pearly gates lying around. What do ya"ll say?

Music played: Clean to Medium overdrive: VH levels max. Am into zeppelin, AC/DC and other classic rock tunes.
    Guitars:

    1. Gibson 57 Reissue with antiquity humbuckers
    2. Gibson Studio (winered) with Pearly Gates set

    Amp:

The PG should give you the upper sizzle you're looking for. Worth a try , especially if you have one laying around.

Thanks. I remember that Pearly Gates to be a little too bright. But back then I was not using this amp. And please remember that I don't know how to swap them, so gotta get the guitar to a tech, and wait for a week (and of course lose some cash).

How does the alnico 3 swap sound? Worth a try? Over in the tips/clips I heard Dr. Barlo's clips, and what I heard made me quite interested.

Did any of you try it?

Where would I get the magnets and how could I get this magnet swap done?
