  • 59 Bridge PU,to bassy?

Im considering the 59B pickup for (bridge spot) on my Strat with 2 humbuckers(have 59N)
and was wondering if there to bassy sounding? If anyone knows.
Noticed on the tone chart that it has alot of Bass.
It was between the 59B,JB & CUSTOM pickups.
    Mainly For CLASSIC ROCK/HARD ROCK.
    Thanx

I have it it the neck and it is very bassy. I roll the volume off a bit on my guitar and get wonderful cleans though.

BTW I'd agree that it sounds too upfront in the bass register in the neck. A5's do that in the neck you know. It sounds kinda too strat like, with the well defined bass and all. If you wanna get more spongy (PAF like) neck tone, one very cool option is to lose that a5 in your 59n, and use an a3. I love my 59ns with a3's. Makes it more spongy, more PAF like.

The above is not true for the bridge tho. I mean, you need some bass in the bridge, especially in a LP which has the bridge pickup quite close to the bridge. So there A5 in a 59 is great!
