  • Magnet Orientation of SSL-1's

What is the magnet orientation of the standard SSL-1's (i.e. the non-RW/RP version)? North or South? I'd appreciate the information. Thanks!

Mine are just the opposite. Middle is North and neck and bridge are south. I have some SSL5's which are also this way. Maybe Duncan made a change. I bought mine about two years ago. I know that original early Strat pickups from Fender were North but by 1956 had changed to South. At that time Fender also reversed the winding direction.

I May have to double check myself and I could be wrong? Most of the non-rwrp Duncan single coils I've seen have been North...
