  • Wax Potting SD INVADER?

To make a long story short i managed to spill a bottle of Electronics cleaner/ Flux remover onto my guitar and a good bit went onto the pickup and soaked in. It actually ate some of the plastic white top as i was wiping it off! Well i waited a few days and plugged it back in and its very microphonic now. I figure the cleaner actually ate the potting away from the coil. I want to re-pott the pickup but im not sure if it is potted in wax or something else like plastic or epoxy?

    Thanks for you help....

Wax will work. Put canning wax in a coffe canand put the can in boiling water. When the wax is completely melted, tie fishing wire to the pickup's mounting holes and dip it into the wax and move it around inside thewax until no more aire bubbles come out. When this is done, take it out of the wax ad put it in your freezer. That's it. Install the Invader in your axe and crunch away!
      Ain't nothin' but a G thang, baby.
