Yeah, I love the SM-3n in the neck slot of one of my American Series Teles with ash body. It has just the right amount of beef and a real nice blend of SC and HB traits. It also matches well with a good Tele bridge pickup -- a Nocaster in my case, but a JD or Broadcaster would probably be real nice, too.

I have an SM-1 paired with a JD in my tele. Very nice "tweener" pickup.
