  • Long shaft pots in a Les Paul?

Hey guys, I'm selling some extra pots on Ebay, and somebody asked me if they can be used in a Les Paul. Does anyone know if all 4 controls on a Les Paul require long shaft pots? Thanks.

(Unless it is a historic, dunno about the other custom shops tho) Long shafts are needed on all LPs which have this metal frame to fit the pots in.

      I agree with the doc.

If the LP has the pots mounted on a metal plate in the control cavity you need long shaft pots for all 4 controls. I'm not sure when Gibson started using the metal plate but it seems to be in most production LPs 90s onwards.

Best to get the buyer to look inside the control cavity.
